Matthew 5:8
What would you say if you knew your time on Earth was ending? Stephen, the first Christian martyr, didn’t cry out in anger or fear when surrounded by those ready to stone him. Instead, he saw a vision of heaven and forgave his enemies. His heart was so pure that even in his final moments, he reflected the love of Jesus. How often do we hold on to bitterness or anger when facing challenges? Stephen teaches us that a pure heart, free from hatred, allows us to see God’s hand at work, even in hardship. Can we find the strength to forgive those who have wronged us? Stephen’s example challenges us to let go of grudges and embrace forgiveness, trusting that God will make everything right.
